Why did my dumbo rat die?

What was the last activity it did before it acted strange?What food do you give it?How long did you have it?All these questions can be reasons but I know how you feel.My eteil died and because it had been flying and hit its head on the wall so we went to the vet and they said we had to pay $121 and 3 hours later it died.sorry.:-(
