Is my CRT monitor capable of 720p?

I got this old CRT monitor (one of those bulky ones from back in the day) and I got a Radeon HD 3650 graphics card. Anyways, it will view 1280x720 which is 720p resolution, but is resolution the only thing that makes a screen HD? Just seems funny that this screen would be capable of high definiton.
