Charges for Bogus Check?

I'm 17 years old, I just had my first high school checking account. I have never even ordered checks on my behalf, and some how I got a letter in the mail claiming the District Attorney recieved two of my checks (amounts were both less than 30 bucks!) saying they were insufficient. My mom says we dont have to pay it, but they are still pressing charges? What could the judge order me?
