Can i wear a wife beater underneath a on up dress shirt?

hey im a guy in high school and was wondering if i can wear a wife beater (i have white and black ones) underneath a dress shirt/on up shirt. i have striped ones and solid. and then i leave the top 3 ons undone. is this socially acceptable?
