I had my hemorrhoids done, an awful surgery, its been 5 days i need help and comfort?

i do use a stool softener and pain killers after using the washroom. doc gave me creams. is there anyone with personal experience someone who actually had it done to give me some details? how long will it truly take for the pain to go away?
